Elena Danescu is, since April 2019, the Manager of the Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg – Belval (ED-UNILU) with the aim of informing people about EU history and current challenges.
Under Elena’s leadership, the Europe Direct at the University of Luxembourg organises a number of lectures, seminars, discussions and exhibitions about the history of European integration, the EU Institutions and the workings and policies of a united Europe. Read more.
Elena is a Research Scientist (PhD) at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH)/University of Luxembourg. She teaches the European Integration History and the Economic and Social History of the Europe for the Master Programme and she is a PhD supervisor at the Doctoral School in Humanities and Social Sciences (DSHSS). Elena is also a member of various professional associations, including the Fondation Jean Monnet pour l'Europe (Lausanne), the Fondation du Mérite européen, an elected Member of the University Council. She has authored numerous academic publications in her specialist areas.
