On 17 July 2026 the Commission registered two new European citizens' initiatives.

On 7 July, the European Commission registered a European citizens' initiative entitled ‘Introduction of Unconditional Basic Income (UBI) throughout the EU’.

Today, the European Commission adopted its reply to the 14th successful European citizens' initiative: 'Stop Destroying Videogames'. The initiative collected over 1.29 million valid signatures from citizens across the EU and reached required thresholds in 24 Member States.
