Europe Direct Sydskåne is the southeast Skåne's EU office for the municipalities of Ystad, Sjöbo, Tomelilla and Simrishamn in Sweden. The office runs in collaboration with the European Commission.
We represent Southeast Skåne in the EU context. We provide advice, organise internal training, conferences, study trips, as well as delegation visits.
The office acts as a direct link to the EU institutions, bridging local society to Brussels (local is the new centre; let’s go local).
Our target groups are business, civil society, interest groups and young people, as well as municipal managers, civil servants and elected politicians who are affected by prioritised target groups. A major focus of ours is to highlight the 'Citizen Engagement Initiative' on every occasion.
The operational manager is committed to engage citizens in EU questions that affects our lives with the purpose of increasing awareness and possibilities to make a difference. This comes from previous experience as a project manager for several EU-projects with review presentations in Brussels, and as an advisor at the Nordic Council of Ministers in Copenhagen.
