Follow-up to successful ECI 'Save Cruelty-Free Cosmetics – Commit to a Europe Without Animal Testing''

On 1 June 2026 the European Commission presented the roadmap towards phasing out animal testing for chemical safety assessments, in line with the Commission’s pledge made in 2023, in response to the European citizens’ initiative ‘Save Cruelty-Free Cosmetics – Commit to a Europe Without Animal Testing’. The roadmap lays out clear, tangible steps to ensure the transition from traditional testing methods to innovative non-animal approaches.
