Podnošenje i ispitivanje
Inicijativa „Kohezijska politika za jednakost regija i održivost regionalnih kultura” podnesena je Europskoj komisiji 4. ožujka 2025. nakon što je prikupljena 1 269 351 valjana izjava o potpori. Pročitajte vijesti Europske komisije.
U skladu s člankom 15. Uredbe o europskoj građanskoj inicijativi organizatori inicijative imali su priliku predstaviti njezine ciljeve na sastanku održanom 25. ožujka 2025. s izvršnim potpredsjednikom Raffaeleom Fittom i dužnosnicima Europske komisije. Pogledajte fotografije.
Inicijativa je predstavljena na javnom saslušanju u Europskom parlamentu 25. lipnja 2025. Organizatori su opisali svoje ciljeve, a zastupnici u Europskom parlamentu razmijenili su mišljenja o inicijativi. Pogledajte snimku.

Odgovor Europske komisije
Glavni zaključci iz Komunikacije
Komisija je pomno analizirala prijedloge građana i zaključila da su neki od njih izvan nadležnosti EU-a jer bi zadirali u postojeći ustavni ustroj predmetnih država članica, dok su drugi već obuhvaćeni postojećom kohezijskom politikom zahvaljujući njezinim učinkovitim zaštitnim mjerama kojima se promiče uključivanje manjina i jednako postupanje prema njima, kao i poštovanje kulturne i jezične raznolikosti.
Stoga se neće predložiti novi propisi kao odgovor na ovu europsku građansku inicijativu. No Komisija će i dalje bez diskriminacije osiguravati pristup financijskim sredstvima Unije te pratiti i podupirati mjere država članica kako bi se zajamčilo jednako postupanje u provedbi kohezijske politike.
Za sljedeći višegodišnji financijski okvir predložila je ojačanu i moderniziranu kohezijsku i razvojnu politiku koja ima za cilj u državama članicama uspostaviti odgovarajuće mehanizme za osiguravanje usklađenosti s relevantnim odredbama Povelje o temeljnim pravima u provedbi nacionalnih i regionalnih planova partnerstva, kao i poštovanja načela vladavine prava. Ako neka država članica ne ispuni te uvjete, Komisija će uskratiti odgovarajuća plaćanja.
